Flavour of the Month April 2015: S-21 Nwatimhiri Road

This is an old road, including two waterpoints, Nwatimhiri and Nhlotini. Both waterpoints are currently inactive, but there are a few pans along the way too!













It is named after the adjacent seasonal river!




A good place to "escape" in the crowded South, as not really a connecting road for tourists regarding main camps!

We got these lions at the pan about 5.5km from the S114 and had them for ourselves for almost an hour before the first car arrived. These days I just get JJ's on this road and the speed past me, I only drove this road 3 times during my last December trip because I don't want to see all the JJ's and dust the whole time

Drove this road last time in 2008. Not bad scenery but never saw many animals on it

it seems I saw a Lion.... while people were watching Cheetahs a little bit further

Never seen cats on this road, but we did have our first black rhino sighting here a few years ago..no pics unfortunately!

One can park really close, depending on how the access roads are closed. It changes every so often!
