I wonder if the preferentially-treated tour operators or whomever, that have advanced bookings, are/were affected... O**

And if they would stand/sleep in a queue...

Caravan & Outdoor Life

KRUGER "FULLY BOOKED" ALREADY?

While some people "camped" overnight in front of SANParks buildings to ensure they get a booking for next year, reports have surfaced that others have been told most of the campsites were FULLY BOOKED for the 2018 holidays within TWO HOURS?

When Caravan & Outdoor Life phoned the Central Reservations line, all we heard was a recorded message that told us the opening for bookings has moved from 25 July to 1 August, despite it being 2 Aug already.

Next, we went online. We checked camping availability during school holidays for some of the most popular campsites such as Punda Maria, Skukuza, Satara, Balule, Letaba, Bateleur, Maroela and Shengwezi.
What did we find?

For the March holidays: Balule, Bataleur, Lower Sabie and Maroela are basically full. Letaba and Skukuza are about 50% full.

June holidays: FORGET ABOUT IT! Almost all of the camps seem 99.9% percent full. We only managed to spot one or two mid-week campsites available...

Recon they need to stagger the school holidays between provinces again .Would be better for the parks as well as they would be fuller for longer as well. -O-
