I was in the north and agree with, RP. The day after the rain all the sand roads were closed but almost all already open the next day and they continued to work on them during the next couple of days, but they were kept open \O

and where do they get the sand/earth from? From what I saw they use loads and loads of loads of sand. I presume that there are many sand hills in Kruger or maybe from some from the rivers (I hope not).

The sand is taken from the rivers generally, Lis! --00--

But most grading is just going over the existing road! \O

When it has rained often in the roads that have this kind of roller coaster dips, they have to fill up with sand in order to make it drivable.

We stayed at Skuks this weekend, leachy and I, and the reception there did a sterling job of wangling the disabled accommodation for us! This unit costs the same as what I booked, but was under the name of a foreign guest, so they could not telephone to request a swap as is normal practice. (It is quite common for "normal" tourists to be allocated the disabled units as actual disability people are quite rare visitors.)

So reception left a note in their booking sheets and asked the foreigners if they would mind swapping when they booked in, which was fine! ^Q^ O\/ O/\
