So adorable!

Any plans already where they'll be going when they are grown ups?

We haven't managed to get out to Addo nearly enough this year, but there are a couple of day trips to catch up on here... let's crack on with the first ;-)

It was a later start on this day, but amazingly we managed to catch some nice eland bulls fairly close to the road on Vukani Loop. The first pic shows them with the Indian Ocean in the background O:V

Image

It's often easy to overlook some of the regulars, so I made a point of trying to capture even the more obvious sightings - including this glossy starling in full throttle

Image

At the crossroads there were plenty of elephant taking turns to drink

Image

This youngster seemed to be happy to follow his trunk wherever it went lol

Image

Despite checking Arizona and the Fire Base there were no signs of lions around so we figured we would head into the north of the park where we had a great fly-past from a Jackal Buzzard in Wayne's Valley ^Q^

Image

They day was really starting to get hot - 35 degrees by this stage - and so it was no surprise that Hapoor was teeming with elphants including a pool party in full swing O\/

Image

There also appeared to be a game of chinese whispers going on :-?

Image

Heading further north the temperature went up to 42 degrees, so most animals were seeking shade. On Domkrag loop we spotted a Southern Black Korhaan and a Blue Crane at Domkrag dam itself O/\

Image

Image

At the main camp, the bird hide area is looking much healthier, and the weavers and red bishops were hard at work building nests in the reeds

Image

On Gorah loop we found a zebra conference in full swing

Image

Whilst back at Hapoor most of the elephants seemed to be departing and heading off for some vegetation to munch on

Image

We had a good chuckle at the crossroads waterhole where one elephant seemed to have mis-read the dress code on his invitation 0*\

Image

The last sighting of the day was a yellow mongoose doing a great job of blending in with its surroundings

As yet I'm not sure about that. I've heard rumours that Aardlam plus a few other lions may well be moved over to the Darlington section fairly soon. I believe Matt & Kalahari are already back over that way as well

Why would you move such an old lady as Aardlam to a new place 0*\
And jog my memory please: Matt and Kalahari? I can't remember where they were from and how old they are.

But I actually came to check your sightings lol

Wonderful elephants all over the place it seems O:V
Very lucky on those elands :-0
