What is interesting to see in the vicinity of Roodewal Private Camp?

This is a short overview of AW Flavours of the Month in the Roodewal Private Camp area:

Bangu Windmill S90
Nsemani Dam H7

Roodewal is on the banks of the Timbavati River on the S-39 gravel road 19km North of Timbavati Picnic Spot.

It consists of 4 twin-bedroom huts, one of which has three beds per bedroom, all with en-suite bathrooms with showers - thus accommodating a maximum of 18 persons.

It has to be booked as a whole.

Geysers, fridges, freezers, stoves etc. operate on gas, while a generator runs for part of the day, charging batteries for the lights!

There is no shop, wood, ice etc.

No cellphone reception.

These pics are two days old...and it took me 25 years to find my favourite camp! \O

Over R5 000 per night, MINIMUM! ^0^

And no joke getting a booking either!

We'll book via one of the tour operators, not Central Reservations. ;-) O**

Roodewal was one of the "first generation" new private camps, along with Boulders and Jock of the Bushveld. It is now almost thirty years old, and was refurbished a few years back.

Nwanedzi and Malelane were also private camps for a while, so only Roodewal and Boulders remain...interesting! :-?
