The next morning we did an early trip in to Croc bridge so that we could get to the shops to stock up before heading to Tamboti the following day .
We went up the S25 to the S108 and back down the H5 .
Our first sighting was this family on the move
These two Kudu Ewes were having breakfast
This Burchell's coucal was warming itself
A waterbuck posed in the early light
A Glossy Starling was reflecting the rays
Some male Impalas were Training
These squirrels were chasing each other around the bush
This bird was warming up in a tree .We did not ID it
This little one decided to stop all traffic until mom moved off into the bushes then decided to rather go with her .
Along the H5 we found some young Hyenas suckling
A few hundred meters away some Adult Hyenas were moving through the bushes .
We reached the Tar of the H4 and turned towards Lower Sabie so we could go down S130 Gomondwane loop and then to Dukes....

Some muddy Rhinos
It's a Burchell's starling the Cape glossy has yellow eyes
Lovely waterbuck in the sun
The two baby hyenas are still very cute
I can understand that you did not ID that bird, It looks strange

Amazing how the grass is always low in the Crocobridge area!
I think it is a brown snake eagle, the raptor.
Nice pics, Rog!

Fatastic sightings despite the heat, Roger,
my favourite is the muddy rhino and the three in the golden light
Lots of birds as well and a great variety of different antelopes as well out of which I like the shots of the kudus and bushbucks

Re: Memories of Marloth and Tamboti Trip Jan 2018
And then our first Leopard sighting of the trip
This fellow was sunbathing on a tree
And this one on a rock :
A Mongoose was using its long neck to look over the grass
This old fellow was mobile in the sun
The heat was on by now and these Ellies were trying to stay in the shade
We had got close to the gate and found a traffic jam .The Cheetah that we had seen yesterday had moved further into the park
It got interested in some Impala further away
But soon gave up and went into the shade
At Croc bridge we stopped for the gents and took a pic of the bats before we left to the shops and stocking up for the trip to Tamboti
Later that afternoon we had an amazing experiance next to the fence at Marloth ...

Re: Memories of Marloth and Tamboti Trip Jan 2018
Later we drove the fence .We noticed a herd of Ellies coming to the river so we stopped and stood by the fence to watch them .It was only the SO myself and the youngest Rugrat who is terrified of Ellies ...
Then another small herd arrived and joined
They were drinking and slowly crossing over the river towards us
and then more arrived
and more crossed
Some even sprinted down the bank to get to the water
and more the one at the back off this group had a floppy ear ...
and even more
The group was now numbering more than about 50 ellies around us some upstream some opposite and some getting much closer to the fence ..
The majority were now on our side of the river and getting closer some even about 40 meters away but down the bank from us.
Including floppy ear who was right bellow us
This youngster picked up a scent of us or others by the fence and raised the alarm
She protected the herd who moved away from us the oldest and biggest just carried on grazing but the rest with youngsters moved away from where we were standing
The sun was setting and we left to go to the house to pack for the move
The rugrat said this was her best ever Elephant & Kruger experiance
