Day 16 - 01 Noivember 2014: Urikaruus to Twee Riveieren
It is our last day in the KTP. We are up and ready to depart at 6.00AM and say goodbye to Mel and Spots. We have not seen a leopard yet and Mel wishes us good luck to get one. We see the usual suspects on the way to Twee Riveren. It is 8.30AM when we reach Samevloeiing and we decide we will drive to Leeudril. Mel and Spots had a great sighting here the day before and we find the subjects of their sighting. We turn around and head for Twee Riveieren and a kilometer pass Leeudril we get one of those special sightings......
Day 1 - 17 October 2014: Home to Twee Rivieren
We arrive at Twee Riveiren at 4.00PM and it is good to be in the Park. it was another wonderful trip and we met up with nan, Mel, Spots (and more spots).
An AMAZING Farewell Gift*
Re: An AMAZING Farewell Gift
Glad to have you all on board Lis, Tina, Toko, Amoli, GavinW, RP, BC, harrys, Flutts, okie
Although we had a 11 hour journey to KTP we just had to do that first drive and found the signature bird (PCG) and the signature Mammal (Gemsbok) of the KTP. Also a young spotted eagle owl. Not bad for starters and Day 2 was KTP Magic

Day 2: 18 October 2014 - Twee Riveieren to Kalahari Tenetd Camp
We left TR at 6.00 am and headed towards Leeudril. Just before leeudril we found a denning Cape Fox. Mom had just caught a mouse and was enticing the cubs to join her but thy were not sure about us. We managed to get some photos through the grass. Possibly the youngest Cape Fox cubs we have seen.

Day 2, Part 2
Mel , I have plenty of cheetah sightings and will leave it to you to you and Astromatt to ID them. Will include all the details in the trip report. Here are the first lot. We found these three males at Rooiputs Waterhole and they had just finished drinking and were walking in the river bed. Two together and one lagging behind.

Duke & Sharifa
It was just so great to meet up with the both of you again! We both enjoyed spending time with you tremendously and Spots kept making me jealous with stressing over and over again how good that curry had been.
So, you got that special sighting as a farewell gift, hey?! Will be quite a long wait to find out if it was a leopard or maybe rather a caracal.
Anyways, I got news for you on the cheetahs...
According to Tina they had been seen between Leeuwdril and Rooiputs on the 22/09/2014, at Kamfers on 06/10/2014 and
now you got them on 18/10/2014 at Rooiputs...

God put me on earth to accomplish a certain amount of things. Right now I'm so far behind that I'll never die.

Thanks RP, Pumbaa, Lis, Mel AstroMatt
Lis - cheetahs do sharpen their claws - Here is Smit doing just that
The branch was not very high but in the photo where the cheetah is stretching you can see the branch sloping down. Two of them just walked up from here. The other one struggled to climb up as you can see in the first photo.
