Re: Which gate to use to enter the park?

Richprins wrote:If you leave at 6 you should be in Nelspruit before 10, and Numbi Gate before 11....this is the most "direct" route to get into the Park ASAP, and leaves plenty of time to get to Satara, depending how you go inside the park. At that time of day you should reach Satara at about 3pm? :-)
Thank you \O

Looking forward going to Kruger, in two weeks time we will have done our morning drive O/\

vinkie, we always leave Johannesburg at around 1am so we get to the gates when they open. We normally enter at Numbi or Phabeni and then we have a nice long drive up to Satara. We'd rather do the driving inside the park than outside. ;-)

Is it safe to drive during the night? We will arrive early on Friday morning at OT international....I was told that you shouldn't drive during nighttime(well our friends in Krugersdorp told us). I don't mind driving during the night we do it when we go on Wintersport to Austria, France or Switzerland.

We've never had a problem vinkie, and the roads are nice and quiet...sometimes we don't even see another car from Belfast to Sabie. ;-)

We normally take Belfast, Dullstroom, Lydenberg, then Long Tom down to Sabie and go in at Phabeni. -O-

I would rather stick to the N4 to Nelspruit and then go to White River and from there either Numbi or Hazyview to Phabeni or Kruger.

Thanks Flutterby and Sprocky \O That's the route we take most of the time Sprocky but then up to Orpen...now we will enter at Phabeni or Kruger depending on the traffic....

I think we will try to leave very early like Flutterby said and enter the park early in the morning O/\

Thanks for all the tips....so happy to be part of this forum X#X \O ^Q^

Sprocks, I just don't like going via Nelspruit. -O
