We did a number of trips with family friends. My mom’s in white at the back, I’m standing at the right and my brother’s in black.

This was a trip we took with two other families. My brother’s on the left in the cap and I’m on the right in the pink.

My mom and dad...dad was obviously feeling the chill and thought the bedspread was better than a jersey! -O

The adults enjoying a Kruger evening. It’s funny to think that they were younger then than I am now!! 0-

On this trip we would drive in a convoy of three cars and we would always be in front as the rest were Kruger newbies. The man in the red and white striped shirt in the pic above was always known by his nickname “Turkey” -O- and he was a talker. We stopped to admire a large ellie very close to the road and my dad could see that Turkey was chatting away and not looking at the ellie. After the drive my dad asked Turkey if they had seen the ellie, to which he replied “Which ellie?”!! 0*\

Some inquisitive hyenas.

This was the very first kill we saw in Kruger. We were on the S128 north of Lower Sabie when we saw two lionesses in the road looking very alert. One ducked into the bush and the next minute a warthog came tearing into the road and was swiftly grabbed by the waiting lioness. They took it into the bush, but the squealing could be heard for some time! :-( We were the only car there! O:V

Hope you don't mind all the people pics. ;-)

What special memories this must have brought back to you, and your Mother, so beautiful. I can remember when we used to go into the Park when all our kids were small we used to tell them to duck down on the seat so we wouldn't have to pay for them all. :o0ps: My Daughter was 7 weeks old the first time she went to the Kruger. Friends of our's were going and asked if we would like to go too. Well of course we did! No problem, no planning, quickly pack a bag....worry about food(and sometimes accommodation) later. Dont know if we were just irresponsible or what.
Nowadays I plan everything down to the last, including the roads I will take. 0-
Looking at your photo's brings it all back, how carefree people were. Thank you for sharing this.

You bring back such fond memories Flutterby. Thank You O0

We also travelled to the Kruger every school holiday and my Dad used to have a home movie camera, which we watched the rest of the year. Unfortunately they were all lost over the years.

Just have one pic left which was taken at the Kruger Tablets when I was five :-)

Woweeee - what amazing photos and memories Flutterby.

This is what I enjoy the most - seeing all the old photos, be they of animals, camps, people, cars or any old thing to do with Kruger.

Thank you very much for going to the trouble of scanning all the photos and then sharing them with us. \O \O
