These two rats are very similar in appearance and occur over much of the same range, but have been shown to be genetically distinct. Any further info. is welcome.
Taxonomic Notes: Thallomys paedulcus possibly represents a complex of several similar species. Further studies are needed to clarify the taxonomic status of populations currently allocated to this species.
