Really love the banded mongoose and the fish eagle (or is it an osprey

) as well.
(I don't get up in Kruger, only do Kgalagadi by now.

And definitely not at 3.30. I think the earliest was 4 am, but
recently we took to lying in until the sun rises.

)
Thanks Mel
I totally agree, after the leopard sighting I was in seventh heaven but then day got better by the bonus added sightings
I checked my book, but can be wrong, I do believe it is a juvenile fish eagle
Mel, when last did yo visit KNP? I still have to do my first KTP trip, hopefully by 2015...

Nice to see the Lions and WendyA in the picture too....

THanks Vinkie, I had 3 great sightings of the spotted cat and it was one of them, the sightings were very well balanced with some great days and some not so awesome days but I enjoyed ever single day in the Park and wished it didn't end... I just saw how big the lion was in relation to her car

Very unusual that this cat stays for so long on the road when there are a few cars around. In my experience they vanish into the bush after 35 minutes..
And of course your lions are very impressive as well. It seems that all these cats wanted to make it into yout TR so they decided to pose for you

Well 35 minutes is a good time, I normally get at the most 5 minutes as there are too many cars and I have to move or the vanish into thin air
The golden cats are always friendly towards me and they seem to allow me having a close encounter with them, also they stop for pics so they are number one on my list

We had a similar sighting on the same road with a mom leopard and two youngsters...they also walked right past our car...could have touched them!
I love that baby mongoose!

And a lovely lion sighting...how many were there?
Thanks Flutts, ooh two youngsters... I still need to see one cub
THere were 3 male lions and 4 females, we only had the 2 males lounging in the shade and as we moved to give the other cars a good view another male appeared and a bit of a fight happened but I heard it and missed taking pics of it as I was positioned wrong

Wonder if it is fair being the good samaritan and then miss on great photographic moments
It was so funny checking the leppie snarling at the bush chickens and then they made him stand up and move away
It is strange because we would expect heavy roadblocks as we were in the south but nothing of that happened, I had just one bad roadblock day the whole trip...
harrys wrote:Wow great Leopard sighting AND Lions and offcourse all the other beautifull animals are just as great

Thanks Harrys
Cats are always great to see but the grey headed kingfisher was the bonus card for the day
my carcass technique

I promise you nothing was put on my car to be dragged along for cats
I'm still waiting for Lesego to come with an official report, hopefully I will get it soon
