MACHACHULE

MACHACHULE

This bull has been named by SANParks in 2008 for the Emerging Tuskers competition.

Characteristics
Large uneven v-shaped tear in the right ear. Left ear has a medium sized square shaped notch towards the middle of the lobe, small flap of skin directly below this.

30 April 2012

This afternoon we went down one of the best roads in the park, the S50 past Kanniedood Dam.

Down one of the loops we met Machachule the Elephant - what a magnificent sight.

Characteristics
Almost clean ears, only at the left ear, at the top there is a small notch with a small piece of loose skin. Both tusks are curving inwards. Some thickened skin growth at the trunk.

MADZOPFURINI

A tusker, not seen that often and special for me since I first saw him in 2008 and it was great to see him again in November 2014 in the Mopani area.

Characteristics
Small notches in both ears. Both tusks are almost equal in lenght, thick and almost straight.
