Let me be the first - SLNP*
Re: Let me be the first - SLNP
SLNP really comes alive at night. like most parks the only way in is with an official game viewing vehicle. they are allowed in if a remember for about 2 hours after dark.
This night drive was amazing. the first sighting was a leopard chasing and stealing a guinea fowl from a giant eagle owl. The guide in 8 years had not seen that before. While sitting there the guide said something is going on as he heard and explained to us about alarm calls. We then departed and he found this about 1km away it was amazing as this was spotted by sound.
Also spotted on this night drive.

This will be the last series of photos from SLNP. Thanks for joining me on this journey and I hope it gave you a small view of what the park is like and has to offer.

I think the query pic is the one with the knife, Kesh!?
Thanks very much for this great report! Opens up all sorts of ideas!
On a seperate note...that buck looks like it has been sliced open for the leopard/predators?

nan - not sure what type of parrot will need to go back and check my sightings list for that trip.
Richprins - If my memory serves me correctly i think it was one of the pods from the sausage tree. I can assure you the leopard caught its prey.
Thank you all for the nice comments.
