I am always wondering about these cheetah breeding programms, obviously very difficult to release them and if done often not successful, so what for do they breed them

I think part of the breeding does result in some attempts at release which is a good thing, even if difficult. One of the biggest aims of the breeding program is to try and increase the genetic diversity so that those released have a very positive impact on the genetic pool in the wild.
