Nossob Camp is situated about 165 kms north of Twee Rivieren and it would take about three and half hours to drive. It is one of the three traditional camps with all the amenities such as shop, fuel, chalets, camping sites and a pool. There is a large, elevated and well situated hide overlooking the waterhole. The waterhole is lit up at night till about 10pm when the generator is switched off and it is lights out for the whole Camp. The generator is switched on again in the morning at 5am just in time to have that first hot cuppa as you listen to the birds in camp come to life and get ready to take the first early morning drive.
There are two roads exiting from Nossob. A gate on either side of the Hide. One gate leading out to the northern road of the Park towards Grootkolk and the other gate takes you to the southern road and down to Twee Rivieren.
From Nossob you are able to get the connecting roads to the Botswana side of the Park. Also to reach Bitterpan you will have to check in at Nossob first.
There is a predator information centre at reception. Nossob means black water.

Let's get the ubiquitous map in first

Re: Flavour of the Month- September 2014- Nossob
I remember the first time I arrived at Nossob waterhole - totally excited as I had watched the waterhole for so long on the webcam.
But what a disappointment at first: Not a single critter in sight.

And on a rather gloomy day

And if there is nothing there, I take random pictures of the waterhole...
23/03/2010
...and the surrounding area
24/03/2010
...the camelthorn on the left hand side far behind the waterhole

...or a sunrise

At Nossob like any place in Kgalagadi you get stunning sunrises and sunsets
A blazing sunset with the camping sites in the foreground
This sunrise from just outside the south bound gate
A rainbow in the distance just as we exited the north bound gate one afternoon.
The camp is always good for owls. This Pearly trying to get a better look at me as I was clicking away (December 2009)
