October 2011 - it was the SO's birthday and that's what he got as a pressie from Kaspers...

... a lioness walking away. Before we had investigated the fresh lion tracks in the road and around
the parking area. Maybe, we should just have stood there and waited.

My last one for this month before I go and hopefully find some more at Kaspers.

(Which will be difficult since we don't stay at Nossob at all this time

)

I was discussion with myself the options of this being a juvenile jackal or a steppe buzzard.
But in the end the steppe buzzard won because of the underwing markings and the rather
yellow than orange'ish feet. Hadn't seen one in quite a while, so quite a nice sighing for me.
