Re: Addo Outings
Thanks everyone for the comments
The brownie showed up at 8:20am and we had about 5 minutes watching it move across a hillside. The aardwolf popped out onto the road at 12:30pm which for a nocturnal creature is certainly a bit unusual
I had heard that a brown hyena had been seen on a camera trap in the south of the park a couple of years ago - it was a total surprise to the park staff. But I haven't heard of anyone actually seeing one during the day before. Aardwolf can be found, but it's just a case of luck with them. They're so shy that they don't normally come too close to the roads, but I know a few people who have seen them in Addo on other occasions.Mel wrote:To be honest, I never knew brownie and aardwolf even occurred in Addo.
What time did you get to see them two?

Which goes to show that those critters don't read the textbooks written about them.
This is really cool! And the SO is impressed.

Re: Addo Outings
Saturday was a very wet start to the day. Jackals are often out and about in the rain - more of their food seems to come out. The drops on the tall grass made for an unusual portrait
