Bitterpan
Re: Flavour of the month May 2015 - Bitterpan
Hi Mel, Bitterpan is a great wilderness camp and we always try to get a booking there as my SO loves 'sand surfing' on the dune roads! The other waterholes were out of use (broken and in a dreadful state) when we were last there, although Morevet had its flamingos! It would be interesting to see what others have to say.

Mel you can always invite us taking the one half. By the way did you get your bookings for March / April next year.Mel wrote:Booking the whole camp would be the only way for me to ever go to Bitterpan... We've always avoided that camp because everyone keeps telling you that you basically sit on top of your neighbours or vice versa and I don't see going to a remote place and being conquered by some chatty neighbours. But booking out the whole camp is always quite expensive.
Yet, from all the photos I've seen so far - including yours, BJ and Polentswa - I think it's a really nice camp and one of these days, when I'm grown up and have enough money ( ), I'd like to go as well.
Thanks for your photos!

That agency started making reservations for us only on the 2nd April... Don't think I have to tell you what that meant... In the end we had swapped things around so that we got stuck with almost half the time at KTC and half at Gharagab... Well, I don't think so... We ditched it all and now go to Addo and Mountain Zebra. And we still have an awesome October booking with 5 nights at Uri, 5 at Grootkolk, 3 at Mata and one at Nossob that I'm still trying to change either into Gharagab or Grootkolk.

Oh, and if I invite you, I still end up paying for the whole camp.

In that case I will do the cooking, supply the drinks and drive you to Bitterpan.

Might be worth it considering the amount of drinks we take in
