Sprocky's visits to Kruger Park

I didn't see it, so I can't comment.

Back in the park this morning for a short drive. I planned on a short one before the predicted heat gets too serious. It started off with the makings of a scorcher, but slowly the clouds moved in, the light became terrible and so it remained a short trip. We now have light rain and nowhere near the predicted temperature.

Well, it's been a while since I last ventured into Kruger. Last Sunday I took a drive up to Mooiplaas for a skottel breakfast with JLee. She decided that we should get an early start to make the most of the day. I was rudely awakened at 05h00 and told to get up, the park is waiting.

After a quick shower and a coffee we hit the road. Out timing was good and caught the sunrise just after entering.



There wasn't much to be seen and it is very, very dry!!! A few birds were trying their luck fishing in a small section of water.

Still at it...



And then...success!!



He then came closer, as if to say..."You see, that's how it's done!"



At Mooiplaas this Arrow-marked Babbler was eyeing out an opportunity to scale some food off the skottel...





The rest of the day was a trip along the Tropic of Capricorn and then down to Letaba and back home again. We saw a fair amount, but nothing worth photographing. Better luck next time...
