From Berg to bush in March 2015 part two – KZN*

15.03.2015 cruise continued

some hippos were having fun

nearing the end of the cruise

and finally a very cooperative fish eagle



who only took off when we got too close





we ended the day with dinner at the reef and dune restaurant.

fortunately the hippos were only practising and they were very entertaining.

morning at the guest house

we saw many white-eared barbets in KZN but this is the best picture I managed to take

and one who lost its tail

originally we wanted to move to Cape Vidal today but because of a fishing competition we could not get accomodation and the guest house was fully booked as well. Thus we had to move to another guest house. Nevertheless we went to isimangaliso for the day.

we started on the pan loop and the first sighting was a warthog



on Vlei loop we saw waterbuck



bushbuck



and even a flying one

a lifer, long-crested eagle



lovely spiders



and flowers



then we got out of the car to go to the lookout point at Mission rock.

there were these interesting walkways at all of the lookout points

and we saw some butterflies
