Very rare indeed!
That area was always the stronghold for eland in Kruger, with a resident herd reputed to be 100 strong at times!

Some feedback from Dr Joubert on Gump's pic. He is very impressed indeed, especially at the herd size in this day and age and ! It is not albino, but a recessive gene. (leucistic, in a sense)
Also, Richprins is talking rubbish about 100 Eland at Pafuri, and must stop taking old maps at face value, apparently...
Interestingly, eland have very loose herd structures, and can indeed join up to form large herds...he saw one of around 150 at Nwasitshumbe (Kloppies) once! They get together depending on environmental circumstances and split up again for breeding!
