KTC camp is known for its visits by lions and hyaenas. First time in 2006 the camp had open parking area (no gate to close) and no glass door at tent, Only Velcro holding the canvas half together. This was Moshi's plan against hyeana invation on the 2nd trip. First time he was only 7 years old and we did not wake him when the hyeanas surrounded the tent.

The wall around the braai area protecting you from scavengers is not very high and may keep out jackals only. Hyaenas apparently can't jump and you are also safe from them, but lions I doubt will be put off by this wall.

I have heard pros and cons of KTC. What has changed after they have added the luxury tents and moved the water hole? Is it better or worse or the same

They made no changes to the camp except for small improvements like the fence around the parking place for each tent and a proper door at the entrance. You must be referring to MataMata I think. There they have rebuilt the hide and moved it closer to the waterhole opposite the luxury units. I will get some pics in Dec when we are there of the new hide and water hole.

Honeymoon tent!

Honeymoon is long time back over but for a lion SO and myself will do anything.

When we stopped to hand in the permits and got out of the car the only answer I got at the attendants hut was a lions roar. Quick retread to the car and found the camp attendant and rest of the residence at the honeymoon tent. There were no honeymooners that evening and he allowed us to enter to get a better view. Very friendly people in KTP.

for me the Honey moon tent is, for me, the best, far from all, nobody at the left side... only Lions and other creatures

tent No. 11 is this one with a big space on the left side, where Springboks come at night to sleep on the road, not so close to the pool, and already to the left of this one. A good one, with a good view

Honey moon tent, changed a little bit last year... they change the huge bed with a smaller one where I have to sleep with my nephew
