Kalahari Tented Camp
Re: Flavour of the Month - November 2015 - Kalahari Tented C
I can personally attest to that, as we were "held hostage" this year for 1 and 1/2 hours by the lions right beside the outdoor kitchen sitting area (honeymoon tent) and just off the car park fenced enclosure. We're always out by 6A, but they didn't move away until 7:30A so we couldn't open the gate. Was rather exciting, however.Mel wrote:Great choice, nan!
No pictures, but bush news about lions being camped out in the shade at the swimming pool last week, because it was so hot they wanted to stay close to the refreshments. It's become a real lion infested camp.
Will post pics when I get time.
Mel, I LOVE the bugs!!! Send yours over to my tent next time

When I see sightings like that, I understand why you love KTP

Luckily, the lions hadn't camped out that day!
Cheetahs and lions were seen within 200 metres of each other on the 24th or 25th October (can't remember the exact day at the moment).
The cheetahs were obviously in dire need of food but when they spotted the lioness in the shade, they retreated. This wasn't exactly in the
camp but in the riverbed / dunes when you come down from KTC.
