Ngulube was strangely quiet, but we got very lucky with a visit to the fire base along the addo heights road. Josie and the youngsters were out in plain sight and we were the first ones to find them O/\ O/\ O\/ O\/

It was such a great sighting of them, so there are plenty of lion photos lol :o0ps: . After sitting around for a few minutes they wandered down across the road next to us and then started hunting warthog on the opposite hillside. They were a long way off and once the hunt started there were lions and warthog running in all sorts of directions making it impossible to photograph 0*\ But best of all was being able to watch it all unfold, and their hunt was successful \O

Around the fire Station, hey... O** Oh, well... Right time, right place lol

The cubs (at least the female Standing next to Josie) still look rather small. For whatever reason I thought that their time with mum is up soonish.
But I'm probably too far ahead lol The Young male is totally handsome

Yes Mel, there's still a bit of a size difference between the girls and their mom. Much less so with the young male. We were very happy to have such a nice sighting of him because he has now been relocated to Kuzuko :-(

Here are a couple more pics of the handsome chap... hope he gets on well with Sylvester

Funny to see how the girls are looking closely at the piggies, while the male is deep in thoughts of his own lol He is also far behind when the chase starts :O^ lol

Lovely portraits ^Q^ ^Q^

Why do they take the male away if he's still with his mum? :-?

But I also hope that he'll get along well with Sylvester. Got no chance anyway... the only male to form a coalition with. (The old ones would probably rather kill him, given the chance... Are they still arount at all?)

The males sort of know what is going on, but are used to the women doing the work...they come and eat, or get involved if it is mega prey, I think?

Their lives consist of marking and protecting territory, and procreating... lol

Instinctive, these animals!
