Thanks for all the comments - it really was an amazing sighting.

But the day wasn't yet over. The aardvark was getting further and further away so we back-tracked to the lions to find that Roy had come out the bushes and was resting at the side of the road :-0 :-0

Image

Image

Before long he was flat out again - just like Nomad who was still passed out in the bushes... 2 sleeping lions 0*\

Image

Image

Cars were pulling in and out, so the noise got Roy up again... complete with a number of yawns showing off his teeth ^Q^

Image

Image

Image

The noise of one particular car reversing really got his attention O:V

Image

Perhaps he wasn't so keen on all the attention... he got up, crossed the road and went into the bushes again

Image

But hang on one moment, the show wasn't over yet! He was obviously thirsty from all the meat he had been eating and we were in a prime position as he wandered down to a puddle in the road next to us to quench his thirst O\/ O\/

Image

Image

We popped back to see if the aardvark had come any closer but there was no sign of it. In the meantime Nomad must have come to drink as well, and we got to see him before heading to reach the gate before closing time. What a fantastic afternoon it had been \O

Interesting that dental view...they don't seem to chew their food, incisors, and carnassials to shear off chunks, and then swallowed whole! :-0

These are incredible pix :-0 ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^

Great close-ups of the sleeping lions and my favourites are Roy yawning and the one that looks as if he's snarling at you O:V

It seems that buffalo is on the menu at the moment lol lol

Melvin and Gibson had caught a young buffalo on Gorah loop right out in the open which was brilliant to see O/\ O/\

Image

Gibson was busy chowing

Image

Image

Whilst Melvin was flat out

Image

After finishing his meal, Gibson got up and slowly walked right up to my car  O:V

After my vehicle inspection (windows down of course), he crossed the road, surveyed the surroundings and then sauntered off for a lie down behind the bushes

Another unbelievable encounter! How do you do it? lol

Gibson looks as if he has had a hair cut... What happened to the long mane :-? It's still full, but looks a bit tattered -O-
