For those of us, okay, it may be a 1 member society, who don't understand all the "Bot" users on-line when we sign in - what IS that, please?

Bot is a software application that runs automated tasks (scripts) over the Internet. Typically, bots perform tasks that are both simple and structurally repetitive, at a much higher rate than would be possible for a human alone. The largest use of bots is in web spidering (web crawler), in which an automated script fetches, analyzes and files information from web servers at many times the speed of a human.

We like the Bots because they read our forum, pick up key words and take them to their respective homes - aka Google, Yahoo, etc.
And then, when people enter a search string, they might end up here for the information they were after

I was suspicious they may be secretive Ninja spies from BOTswana, but the fact they always write in Italics made me suspect the Italian Mafia as well.

Turns out, it's "only" the Master Spies from Google, Yahoo, etc. who collect all your data for the USA's National Security Database
