RP -O -O -O It certainly felt like it!

Dewi, you won your bet. There are plenty of birds visiting on their migration.
Alas, it happens always when I'm not able to visit. 0*\

nan, that's why I like your pond-thread so much as well. \O

Right, let's have some summer now:

The promenade is 2.6 km long and always busy on every stretch:

The beach is littered with those funny looking baskets. But they are great to shelter against the ever present wind:

In the background one of the ferries that ships passengers, cars, bikes, deliveries and what have you onto the island:

This is one of the many Halligen to the south / south-east of Föhr. A Hallig is basically an undiked tidal wetlands island off coast anywhere in the real north of Germany (and only to the west side of it, like in the map from my first post):

Then there are the many fields and some are dotted with a windmill:

Apart from tourism, Föhr lives on agriculture and of course fishing.

The sheeps roam the sheltering dykes all over the island and therefore this is a common view:

No words needed:

Twice a year you’ll get huge fireworks: Once in summer when the Harbour Festival is on and once for New Year’s Eve. This was the first time we were able to see what the Harbour Festival is like. Well, let me put it this way: I wouldn’t specially schedule my holidays in order to attend… 0' But although I’m not the biggest fan of fireworks, I have to say that Föhr did an excellent job on this:

Funnily enough, those fireworks for celebrating the change of years is not official at all, but only done by tourists silly enough to spend their money on that stuff. And there are many… 0-
