M
MANTID
This was the smallest preying mantis I have ever seen - I couldn't even discern what insect it was with the naked eye. I thought it was a plant hopper of some type, but the camera revealed it to be a mantid
I know, I know, , I need to get a real life
That will be even more apparent with the next entry
...all creatures Great and Small....
Had very few sightings of mongooses (?) this trip - only 2

Re: Kruger's Motley Crew
How clever to get such a great pic of the Purple-crested Turaco
If you cannot see all those tiny insects, how do you find them? The photos are marvellous though. Those transparent wings are are a joy for the eyes
I love the lizard

BC - you're averse to spiders??? I would never have pegged you as a girlie-man
All insects are creepy in my book. I remember checking them out with a microscope when around 6 years old and it was clear where movie makers were getting ideas for monster horror movies.
I go “cold” when a spider is around
The lion/leopard episode is great The swimming
You just gave me another skrik with a mantis

nan, RP, Sis, Pumbaa, Flutts, and BC - appreciate you taking your time to comment. THANK YOU!
RP - "The Bird Mafia will get you if they see you calling it a Lourie…"
If my bird book says "Lourie or Turaco", how do I know which one to pick?
BC - "I go “cold” when a spider is around "
The jumping spiders are the cute cuddly ones! The assorted misc. spiders are still to come…lucky you.
