Usually these things are full of errors, both translation ones and plain language ones. Almost like reading H.e. 
I have not understood if the "Interested Parties" have to fill in the letter or if it is for someone else to fill in
I did read it rather quickly and intended to go through it again, but have to reach that point yet

This is new to me

Dear Lisbeth
Firstly, I am both an archaeologist and a historian. My involvement is due to South African legislation, which requires that a heritage impact assessment should be done when developments such as these are planned. The assessment will then point out if there are any cultural heritage sites which may be affected if the development proceeds and to make recommendations to the Heritage authorities on how these are to be dealt with.
I will do my study end of February and will then know if such heritage sites exists.

I have received the documentation from Kevan.
Having read though it umpteen times I am of the opinion , as this is an environmental impact study, that no harm or damage will be made to the environment of Kruger Park as such.
To park a few coaches on the bridge and build walkways on either side, which in all probability , will not be seen from Skukuza. The walkways that is.
I would love to wake up in the morning, step onto the walkway, and look out over the river.
Look at it another way. When Lower Sabie extended their restaurant so that one can almost sit over the river no one said a thing about this ugly thatch and wood structure that is an eyesore when one parks on the bridge.
To me, placing a restaurant seating area jutting out over the river is more environmental unfriendly than a few [b]railway[/b] coaches placed on a railway bridge which will anyway be well camouflaged by the bridge structure.
I am therefore saying it is a good idea provided the funds are not taken from us taxpayers.
There, now I have had my say and await the flak from other listees.

How many extra tourists will 10 coaches bring into the Park per day?
Lets say 20 per coach - then thats increase of 200 per day.
I do not know how many visitors there are in the park per day but what will the percentage increase be per day - miniscual?

If they were going to put up a big hotel, more shops etc etc to cater for all the train passengers then I would agree.
However 10 coaches over a railway bridge does not amount to over commercialisation in my eyes.
They will use the existing restaurant Selati restaurant.
Lets go back a number of years - did commercialisation not improve conditions in the camps for visitors i.e. shops, restaurants, tour guide companies
etc etc.. ?.
In the 1940's who heard of shops and restaurants in the camps. Tarred roads - heaven forbid!!!!!!
An airport - unthinkable!!!!!!
Come on guys - lets move with the times.
