I like the gang of Buffaloes too.
Another nice sighting along the road :

Nice horn!
They do not cut the horns in Kruger, right? I suppose that the rhinos are too many and it becomes to expensive and too difficult

No, they do not dehorn the Rhinos in the Kruger.
I have read a study in Wildlife Ranching Magazine (though not my bedside magazine, it has some interesting articles on conservation, but again only with a commercial perspective), according to which dehorning Rhinos can efficiently curb the level of poaching only in the following cases : when the Rhinos are not numerous in the considered area, when the reserve to be protected is rather small, or when the land is open and flat. In the other cases (as in the Kruger, where the Rhino are many on a very large area that is hilly with thick vegetation), it is not useful to dehorn them.
In my opinion, if all the Rhinos where dehorned in the Kruger and everybody knew it, poaching would probably plummet. But the study probably took into account the cost relatively to the economic gain...

Thanks all! Ja, Dingwe, dehorning is not viable in Kruger. The monsters sometimes shoot dehorned ones anyway so they don't have to bother tracking them again, or take the little bits of stump left.

Must say, I am not a fan of this road.
Have never had any good sightings along here.
And never any of the rare antelope that are supposed to occur in the P'kop area
