Re: Tawny Eagle - Bird of the Month September 2013 *

Post by Dewi »

Hi ExFmem, great pic. \O

Tawny Eagles are quite capable of taking fox cubs and probably adult foxes as well. In Kenya, they hunt Kirk's Dik-dik which are twice the eagles' weight.

Golden Eagles, a related species, regularly take fox cubs and sometimes adults. Falconers in Asia use them to hunt Wolves.

Tawny Eagle

Post by GlosterBirder »

Hi
I was back in South Africa at Sabi Sands/Kruger N.P. last week and I have some species of which I have either a poor pic or in some cases a good one and still can't arrive at an ID. Some of these I know what I think they are but I don't won't to pre-influence people. Can you help again please?

Eagle but which one?
