A Weekend in Grietjie

On top of the animals quite an entertaining episode. Had to giggle about the SO getting into the mood of things,
the image of you tagging along behind your own car and also the impaffes

After our day in Kruger we had a delicious braai and relaxed around the fire.



The next morning we cooked a huge breakfast and then the boys decided to have a stone throwing competition.



That didn't last long and we were off on another game drive. We had heard lions and hyena during the night but sadly didn't see them. There were plenty of jackal around but I only managed this bad pic!

There was much excitement when we came across some ellies as Anita and Tony hadn't seen any in the reserve for a while.

We then popped in to visit some of their friends who live in Grietjie permanently...another lovely house with a stunning view.



They have a waterhole in front of their house but nothing came to drink while we were there.

You're right, that giraffe does look different! There are no fences between properties or reserves so the animals are free to roam. ;) It's a lot less populated than Marloth and much quieter.

Grietjie is the best Have had lions serenading us in the back garden for the last three nights (mating couple), most plains game come by every day and a couple of weeks ago saw a leopard from the stoep!
