Re: KTP - Personal Best of
Thanks for all the generous comments!
The showcat:
Tataruka, with her eagle vision spotted (pun not intended) this leopard a few hundred meters away on a hill, we followed him all the way down towards the road where he had given us one of the best shows ever.
He was strolling down in to the open and had seemed to step in a meerkatgat (Suricate burrow) and jumped for a brief moment - I was extremely lucky to have caught him in the air.
as we followed him down, he stopped at a tree, where he stretched and scratched the tree and proceeded along.
we had an ample 40-50 minutes with this large cat.
The Reminiscent Lion:
As we just left Nossob, Bookworm closed the gate behind us and got in to Harrys' car. - About 200-300m away, we saw Mr. Lion heading towards Nossob. Needless to say, Bookworm did not want to be on gate duty anymore.
The black and white and not so black and white owl:
I must say that this is one of my most favourite shots of the trip.
It happened all accidentally, we went on the sunset drive in Nossob and had bought a flash setup for this occasion, it was about an hour into the drive where we spotted this owl, with all the lights on it and my flash going off it gave off this weird black and white effect (Which I believe is due to over exposure), but is still in full colour. - This photo has not been edited in any way (except for Cropping and my signature).
Team-work Cheetahs:
About two or three Kilometers from the Lion in Nossob we came across these cats eating their well deserved breakfast, we sat with them for small while and saw each one taking turns to eat and keep lookout and moving the kill around with a great example of team effort (I Wish my team at work could work this seamlessly together)
A Cliche Karroo Sunset:
This was also taken on our sunset drive, My dad and me were both smokers at the time and being in a moving vehicle for more than 30 minutes without smoking was almost impossible, so we managed to persuade the Ranger to pull over and let us indulge in our bad habits.
We got out and lighted our ciggies, looking around and the Karroo sun was just to beautiful to ignore, so I took a photo, without really thinking about it (and with a rather large lens on, I did not expect anything great)
Thanks Oom! - It was one of our best trips by far, even with all the ups and downs we had along the way.
Will do RP!
