Sounds as if there is very little water :-( Probably why you had such good sightings at Grootkolk ;-)

That leopard from afar cannot have been easy to spot

You were very lucky at Nossob. Not many of the staff would have done that ^Q^ ^Q^

Nice bateleur and of course the booted eagle \O

great sightings so far. Very green about the Caracals, hoping to see them when we get there due to the low lion sightings \O

We had plenty lion sightings at Rooiputs in April ..my morning Game Drives rarely went further than 15 kms ..mostly far less ..just drove out of camp alone and just parked at the bottom ..

Peter Betts wrote: Mon Oct 15, 2018 5:47 pm Thats why I stay at Rooiputs ..you dont get Jams in the morning as you are with the sightings at 'gate Opening ' ..there is no gate and no permits to be collected and returned ..so you have stuff to yourself last 45 mins of the day and first 45 mins in the morning ..but lovely pics ..love the Booted Eagle ..I WISH !!
Us no campers. so we usually try to get into the wilderness camps. Because we totally agree on that permit collecting thing... The one night we stayed at Mata we were in a CH2 and able to watch the queue build up in the morning and the bickering that went with it. Quite a show in itself!
And btw, the first car pull up to the gate at 5.40 am and then went back for his permit. Once more a new reckless behaviour IMO. When we last stayed at Mata everybody had the courtesy to park around reception and enter as they had arrived. But of course, the second one could be a tad faster than the first - even if he hadn't intended to be. Well that "problem" is solved with the new method 0'

Well done to reception at Nossob! O/\ O0

Also never seen a booted eagle!

I also like sitting at a deserted waterhole, as long as there is water1 lol \O
Agree on the reception lady thing \O

To see booted eagle you must get out of your Kruger cocoon. lol

I'm actually not quite sure if the little water situation around GK camp helped to get those great sightings,
because throughout the day there were often no animals at all and I would have expected the antelopes
to come and drink -O-

That leopard was moving when people found her and from there it was always passing the news on to the
next driver lol
