I picked this up on the cams the other day and was quite surprised to see a hippo drinking.
Is that normal? I mean, they are wallowing in water all day long, so why does this one feel the need to drink

The feed a lot during the night and are moving around also far from the water, so maybe they get thirsty

Where would that Hippo have come from?
Can't think of any water points near Satara that are big enough for one at the moment. Nsemani is empty.

Maybe pools on the Sweni/Nwanedzi streams? They walk very far!
