Remarkable!

Well, done, SanParks, especially the last two paragraphs! \O

The "National Historical Resorces Act" stuff comes almost verbatim from a query we sent through to the relevant department last year...so I'm glad SP understand! ;-)

The question is, how is the place to be "renovated"..and how many tourists will be accommodated?

Assuming the main Farmhouse is also to be used, the place could accommodate upwards of 25 people as it stands...about the limit, I think! 0/*

Power and water are a bit tricky there, and the view is mostly over the busy and noisy border post, so it's more a place for diehard birders etc...

But sensible news nonetheless!

A friend of mine visited TEBA over the weekend to say hello to the managers, not knowing that it was closed!

She sent me these pics:

Everything is still in tip-top condition...fortunately SanParks retained one of the staff to maintain the grounds, although further investigation revealed that he hasn't been paid in 3 months! O/

Teba took all the furniture and antiques and Africana with them for storage somewhere...a pity! :-(

The question is...surely SanParks could have earned some much needed revenue here since April?? 0-

Off-topic, but just a question to a noob...

Why are there so many posts on the forum which are just containing massive numbers of quotes by others, without anything posted in the post by the poster?
Where do these quotes come from? Old threads?

Thanks -O- -O-

the website migrated from a free version that had advertising popping up to this new site. The mods and commitee members then had the unenviable task of copying over all the relevant information from the old site. \O

Drat! Got info that absolutely nothing has happened, and the caretaker's contract expired end 2012! O-/

SP could have made a small fortune from the place by now, and Frank could have been empowered as a true professional black conservationist making history with his birding camp....isn't that what SP is spouting forth about?

Agreed - it's been quite some time now that the camp has been closed.
Don't even want to imagine what the place will look like if no-one is around to look after it. 0*\

Wonder why SP are so slow there?

Plus, people of the bordering communities are out of work now... Isn't that the opposite of the mantra
SP are following with all their future developments. 0'
