Hulukulu Pan
The most northern named place in Kruger. No roads arriving, but "Morning walk to Hulukulu pan in Makuleke, Pafuri, KNP. To think how many sun rises these figs have seen."

Hlambamaduba
Stream and Windpump on the S-23 near the Biyamiti river. This popular artificial waterhole was opened to tourists quite late on, in the 1990s, compared to others. It was also closed quite soon, and permanently, in the 2000s. Also known as Muhlambamadvube, or other spellings.

Hlamvu
A tributary of the Shingwedzi river and situated 31 kilometres south-south-east of the Shingwedzi rest camp. The watercourse was named after a local Shangaan tribesman of the same name and a literal translation from Tsonga would mean “Bullet”. Inhlamvu – (Zulu) meaning honey guide bird.

Re: The ABC of Kruger
Hartbeesfontein
The name originally referred to Dr Loubser’s farm which was isolated when encircled by the Orpen’s donated land. The farm was subsequently incorporated into the KNP in 1950. “Hartbees” is short for the Afrikaans word “Hartebees”, the closest English being Hartebeest, Alcelaphus caama.
Afrikaans: Fontein = fountain/ spring.

Hatlani
The name of a former Tsonga inhabitant of the area, living close to this sandstone koppie.
(291m) is the highest of the koppies that mark the watershed between the Letaba and Tsendze rivers. Note how the bush around the koppies is a diverse, lush tangle of species typical of sandveld vegetation. S47 (MIngerhout Loop).
