Hmmm..... unless you go the really cheap way , with a simple tent , without all the bells and whistles , then IMO , in the end therefore camping can be very very expensive .
Certainly , its not everyone who can afford to by an expensive , brandnew caravan or 4 x 4 trailer , but keep in mind , even if bought second hand , at some stage prior to that , this specific piece of equipment was NEW , and it cost money ....

Now , of course , you can hire a trailer or caravan , usually at a price , starting at around R400 to R500 per day .
Now , add your camping fees , PLUS the extra cost of fuel for pulling the damn thing along behind you , and then compare the cost with that of a bungalow , and then , I do not think that cost difference is all that much :O^

It depends on the number of persons, I'd say. Anyway, we are not only talking about the cost ;-)

Of course yes \O That's what I've been talking about earlier , including the cost , so IMO , camping is not necessarily worth it as a saving , and in any event , one can also get bungalows/ accommodation that can probably give you the same type of ambience as camping .
so , basically , it come down to one's own taste and preferences lol
Neither option is necessarily cheaper , or better than the other ...........
