Leachy would not allow much more than a quick stop. The thing is I have some tea and he doesn't because he is a stickler for the rules etc, so the prime directive is to get to camp. End of story!
I was allowed 10 seconds to photograph the remainder of the pack lying in the shade!
I think there were 9 dogs in all!
(It was 34 degrees briefly that afternoon, not that it really felt like it, so very pleasant for winter! )
My favourite time of year in the bush!

I prefer the bush when it's green, but the wild dogs are nice

Nice way to start your trip. I wouldn't do well in leachy's car if I couldn't sit and enjoy the sights for a while!

And as so often happens, a lifetime sighting around the next corner...
We at first could not compute what we were seeing walking down the road away from us.
One gets that now and then, as it is a new thing for the memory banks!
When the ears flapped we realised it was a baby elephant, all alone!
It was wandering all over the place and screaming its head off VERY loudly!
RP: "Wow! Once in a lifetime! When they get lost like this they will come to the vehicle, or a similar big moving object! "
Le: "Ok, can we go?"
RP: "No, I command you to switch off, thereby using up my once-a-decade request allowance! "

Re: Richprins' Short Business Trips to The Park
A couple of other cars arrived eventually, and it continued investigating and screaming!
I think it was ok in the end, as it was old enough to make enough noise to attract the herd, IMO.
Our full minute was up, so we roared off to Skuks, with me having a major pelican as BC would say!
One nice thing was that reception had sorted a swap so that we could get the disabled unit, a fancy one by the river!
These places are marvelous, if pricey!
