Re: Tembe Elephants moved into Addo
Rumours were swirling around about the new bull last weekend and that was a photo I was sent that was supposedly the bull introduced. Having seen the photos of the one in transportation it's clearly not such a big tusker as Ndoda. Who knows... maybe he'll be introduced in due courseKlipspringer wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 4:23 pmLisbeth wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 6:49 pm One has obviously already been introduced, Ndoda Mfishane: https://www.africawild-forum.com/viewto ... 52#p468852

Lisbeth, this was the assumption from the other thread.
"Tembe" is most likely a name he only got now.
I think, this bull is none of the elephants tourists can see in Tembe, but rather an unnamed bull from the northern half of the park where guests are not allowed.

Re: Tembe Elephants moved into Addo
Many of Addo's elephants are still tusk-less genetically. So the introduction of bulls with decent tusks is seen as a way of trying to help with that.

The new introduced bull is "Vincent", one of the regulars at the waterhole in Tembe.
Here a recent webcam sighting from Tembe

Thanks for the ID Klipspringer
When we get a chance to pop into Addo (and hopefully find him) I'll confuse everyone on the FB page and name him correctly
