Always on top of dunes, or so it seems


We watched the couple as they moved along the dunes in the direction of Kij Kij, and slowly they started making their way closer to the road.






They got to the road, and crossed it behind us



And were quickly over the road and up the dune on the other side.

Single male East side of road, seen by a springbok who started snorting, cheetah crossed over to West side and continued walking South

Driving down the slope that leads to the Urikaruus entryway, Hanri and her youngsters appeared marching down the riverbed.



They soon disappeared over the dune, much to my dismay, but I did spend a lovely morning with them a week later.

I started out as the only car to go south that day. After about 40 minutes or so, I spotted my beloved cheetah trio, Hanri and kidlets, high on the ledge, seemingly just waking up for the day.







They slowly began descending the rocky outcropping, ready to take on the new day.





First, a stop at ye’ ol’ drinking hole. At times they focused on searching for the ever elusive breakfast, and other times frolicking together.





I had passed a large herd of springboks earlier in the morning, and they were headed that way. About an hour plus later, the herd was sighted….
