I'm baffled... Wanda said she has only every seen Hanri as for cheetahs as well. Seeing that we kinda were wedge between yours and her stay,
I feel even more blessed with all the spots and other stuff we saw!
We only arrived on the 4th, spent a night at Twee, then 4 at GK and the rest at Uri. So, we should have been on the same side at least for a day or so

I totally agree on the brownie/lion disaster! But that's probably what you also have to cope with when there is a high lion activity all over the place.
And even more cheetah to come

8th October - Grootkolk
This morning we were headed in both directions again, but even if we found meerkat, they were not inclined to hang around for long...
While still watching them disappear behind our car, I also noticed something else in the thickets. An elephant shrew... no, actually it
was two of them. Can you spot the second one?

Re: Lions for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner (October 2019)
Seeing how quiet the waterhole in the camp was, we opted for a sundowner drive to first Kannaguass and then all the way up to Union's End.
The latter is one of those waterholes where we never got to see much really. The best sighting ever had been a jackal buzzard, and that was
yeeeaaars ago.
Kannaguass produced a vulture party.
We sat with them for quite some time, watching their antics when all of a sudden one started to ruffle its feather and took off.
All others quickly followed suit. Unfortunately, I didn't think to video it as I was so mesmerized by what was happening. It was
just so fascinating to watch!

Once the vultures were gone, we got on our merry way up north again. Arriving at Union's End we couldn't believe our eyes
A small lion family had set up camp since the morning when we had been there
And best of all - it was even the beautiful male that once used to dominate Grootkolk.

The youngster got curious and took an interest in our car
But the kiddo settled down again quickly when realizing that we would have none of it and drove off a bit.

Mum followed the teenager up the road and daddy looked a bit confused about what was happening
He then decided we were too boring...
...and followed his family.

All of them lay in the road a few metres from the waterhole.
And these were only 13 or so pix out of the 250 I took of this sighting
