Browns in Kruger - February 2020 (JHB Clan)
Re: Browns in Kruger - February 2020 (JHB Clan)
Then it got bored and started tapping the small branch with its foot
We all watched in quiet for about 30 minutes, when new visitors arrived, they either joined the group on the sides or slowly drove through the group. I was very impressed by the way that all conducted themselves, I can only assume that this was because of not being in the school holidays, these were visitors who had been to Kruger many times.
The Leopard eventually stood up and yawned, then lay down and went to sleep. This was our que to move off and continue on our drive.

Very nice, SN!
Interesting how the younger predators behave differently!
And well done to the tourists.
Mugg&Bean seems to be a success story!

A "long wait" for a young leopard on the southern loop roads
But at least you got a sighting og note
Nothing worse than being stuck and then it turns out that there is almost nothing to see

The rest of S130 and S28 were quiet, we were hoping for better on the H4-1 but no luck ! I was starting to realise that the H4-1 only fires in Winter. The drive back to Lower Sabie to the S79 causeway was dead…
We turned back and headed down the H4-2 to Croc Bridge. We passed the wild dogs that had not moved and went on toward Croc Bridge. Things started to improve, and we started to see general game again.

We took a loop off the tar onto the H5.
About 2 kilos down the H5 we spotted a few vultures and a Lion on a kill.
The Lion was deep in the bush, you could hear the eating going on but see very little. You had to wait for a head to pop up every 10 to 15 minutes.
