We were also lucky to watch a caracal hunting a squirrel - like you said, bolting like a cheetah

Thanks guys
While we were watching the caracal, our friends Chris and Jono had just arrived in time to see the sighting, and were to spend the next two nights with us at Rooiputs, and were on their way to set up camp.
Before we headed back we had to show them our two resident owls, who were STILL around
Back at camp, we got life sorted out, and Jenny joined us for a cup of coffee
A reunion from November 2015, when all of us had camped in no 1 and were blown away by a major sand storm.
The afternoon was spent chilling in camp

Re: Paradise under stress: KTP October 2019
We decided to head down to Leeudril for our afternoon drive, where we came across two flat lions near the Leeudril waterhole
They weren’t up to much, so we retraced our steps and took a quiet drive up to Kij Kij and back
All we really saw on the trip were these Rooi Hartebeest on the side of the road
That evening, the wind dropped and we had an enjoyable braai with our friends.
And the barking geckos

I like Hartebeests, they are not rare but so nice to watch and very elegantly horned
The gecko is a good one, too!
