There are many holes in the dead tree, you must inspect them, there might be some cool bees living O**
One is not allowed to get out, Klippies! It is a rule in Kruger. \O ;-)

You can park your car next to it lol

Although there is some decent animal action, I would never be able to sit at a waterhole for hours on end -
except for enjoying a sundowner that is (and that was regularly pretty successful I'll have to admit :-? ).
But I would always suffer of FOMO when being stuck to one place. 0*\ :o0ps:

The highlight of the day was this tusker that emerged quietly on the trail of the breeding group! ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^

He snuck round to where the womens were, but another group of bulls had also approached there from the other direction, below the dam wall...

While watching them through binocs the croc suddenly leaped out of the water with a big barbel in its mouth...one could clearly hear the big splash and it was quite weird! :-0

I waited with camera for a repeat performance, but fatty just emerged for a rest instead!

It is difficult to explain via the pictures but there was definitely some confrontation going on between the tusker and the group of five bulls! It was quite eerie watching them encircle him, and he stood stock-still, only occasionally swiveling as one or the other came close! The ears were permanently out.

These animals are the second most intelligent in the bush after baboons, and the tension was palpable, trust me!

One can see that the tusker is very much bigger than most bulls in stature. He stood like this with trunk on tusk for a long time too! 0()

Next time: Conclusion...

These elephants communicate with each other - but you can not hear the low frequency sounds. ^Q^
