Another bug taken at Kirstenbosch...maybe a stinkbug nymph. ???
Very pretty ..I didn't have my macro lens with me though.

Looks like a nymph of Nezara viridula, Southern Green Stink Bug

And a caterpillar ..also taken at Kirstenbosch. :)

I think it is a Garden Acraea (Acraea horta)

I hope I have this correct...
We can post insect images here and possibly get an ID ??
I am not the best when it comes to ID of insects .....they are either bugs, grasshoppers, ladybirds, dragonflies, wasps/bees hornets, flies, caterpillars, mosquitoes or butterflies/moths...
But I do like to know what I have photographed . :)
Here goes...
I believe this one is a Protea Beetle ( Bug ) - taken at Kirstenbosch in September this year

Thank you Lisbeth. As Klipspringer quoted in the description of this beetle they bury themselves head first into the protea ..luckily I managed to get a photo of it before it buried itself into the protea. I have many of these photos.... Not so pretty now.....
I have been to Kirstenbosch literally hundreds of times and this was the first Protea Beetle I had ever seen. :)

The Beetle was like that for a while with just it's rear end sticking out . I then was distracted by a jackal buzzard that swooped over my head so I went off after him and forgot about the beetle. Yes it is indeed a King Protea . :)
