Harry
love these proteas
Are the first 3 the same bush?
Do you have more photos of the white one? Is it a small bush, height? In the valley of the Lenong drive or high up?
You have identified the last one yourself

Yes the first 3 are the same bush, the white one is smaller than the others about 1m high, it's on Lenong drive just before you start climbing that scary mountain roadKlipspringer wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 10:06 am Harry

Harry
The white one is a Dwarf Savanna Sugarbush Protea welwitschii
The other one is the Common Sugarbush Protea caffra caffra
And the edible one comes under several names: Transvaal Milkplum, Stamvrug Englerophytum magalismontanum
AKA umNumbela (Zulu), Munombelo (Venda), moTlhakwa (Setswana), Nombela (Tsonga), umNumbela (Swati)
The dawf white protea is beautiful!

Back from Kruger? Had a good time?
Curious to see and hear what you came across this time.
