Can anyone tell me if there is fridges provided for campers at Letaba and Shingwedzi and who to speak to. Reason i am asking is my daughters(then 16 and 18) will be visiting these 2 camps on their own and they will be in a tent so they will need to put their meat somewhere
Thanks

Harrys - no neither of these camps has dedicated fridges for campers. You can speak to the manager at the shop, most camps are happy to help out (punda and shingwedzi have in the past helped me) how long are they going, sometimes a second cooler that doesn't get opened much will do the trick, depends on time and the cooler.

Lvb they are going for 10 days and I thought of buying them one off those electric cooler boxes that can either freeze or heat your things.
Thanks for your advice

That will also work Harry, just make sure it can actually freeze, because some of them only cools down to about 20 below ambient.
Other option is dry ice, if you trust them to be safe with it.

Hello, harrys
Regarding the second cooler, I would also interpret it as a small normal one that you put your frozen stuff into, and keep in the camp restaurant/shop freezer room, to be used and refilled at leisure.
Have done it at Punda and Shing many times, and never had a problem!

When I was in Shing those R5 ice packets from the shop were a life saver! Shoe!
But then it doesn't last 3 days
Mannn I want to be back in Shing now. Jealousing

The ice machine at Shingwedzi is FANTASTIC . More camps should have them installed
