Love the pygmy goose - gorgeous, and you had so many other great bird sightings it's hard to choose favorites. I certainly am learning a lot from your great pics. :ty:

Can't let the leopard sightings go unmentioned - great spotting there, you two. ^Q^

Finally he dared to leave the dense bushes and present his beauty to us

Image

and also all his ladies now came closer.

Image

On the tar road we then met a huge group of giraffes who just crossed the road

Image

Image

in between we adored the gorgeous youngsters who were also plentiful

Image

unfortunately far too soon all of them moved closer away from the road.

Image

We already admired the many reeds in the riverbed of the N’waswitshaka whilst standing on the bridge across the conform river but today we noticed between a couple of red ones far too far away a nicely posing thickbilled weaver

Image

extreme close to where we stood.

Image

Back in camp we walked to the Selati train restaurant for lunch and as I already enjoyed the best ever pizza I ate in my life in the previous Selati Train restaurant I already could enjoy my second best last year and also this year in the new Selati Train Restaurant– same was simply delicious.

Image

Image

Timon decided for fish and chips always a nice alternative to the prevailing meat whilst braaing. We both were extreme happy and walked back to our bungalow after a short visit to the shop with extreme filled tummies.

We enjoyed a real nice break in camp although today without spotting a leopard but we again noticed the very well camouflaged lizard on a tree close to our bungalow.

Image

I forgot to mention that when we wanted to cook water in the kettle early morning nothing happened the kettle was broken so I improvised and cooked the water in a pot on the hot plates which also worked, however, took longer. So before we left for our afternoon drive we stopped at the reception and I told them about the kettle and what to say when we returned back from our afternoon drive the brand new kettle waited already for us in our bungalow.

Then it was already time to do our afternoon drive and for sure we decided once again for our beloved magical square now already for the final time during that trip. In the beginning we were held up by a herd of elephants

Image

Image

who were feeding and some of them even decided to take a bath on a sunny afternoon.

Image

We could have spent the rest of the afternoon with them, however, finally they crossed the river and moved out of sight so we still had enough time to carry on and came across a couple of warthogs

Image

whereas the group decided to walk on the road which took quite a while.

Image

Finally we again reached the highwater bridge across the Sabie and Sand rivers and now we took the shot into the other direction as we already did during our morning drive.

Image

It cleared up finally over the day with blue sky but luckily it was not that hot again as at the beginning of our trip. We stopped for a beautiful lilac breasted roller

Image

and more elephants but overall it was quiet but nevertheless we enjoyed the drive.

to be continued…………….

A very handsome nyala male \O

Delicious-looking food! What are the yellowish "things", together with the black olives, on top of the pizza?

Beautiful view of the Sabie or is it the Sand river?

How come that we are never surprised when something does not work in Kruger, but utterly astonished, when it is fixed pronto O**

I like your agama and the "cute" piggies ^Q^ ^Q^

The yellowish things were pieces of chicken and no olives (as I hate them) it were mushrooms plus masses of cheese \O This must have been the Sabie river \O Thanks Lisbeth :ty:
