We spotted the lone Gemsbok up on a dune

Just before Samevloeing , a car was stopped on the side of the road.
A male leopard had just crossed the road and was now up on the ridge on the west
We managed to get a few proof pics before he disappeared over the top

The payments still wouldn’t go through so we returned to camp at Rooiputs

Well, after a really great morning out, when we got back to camp, we had a really nasty surprise awaiting us.
The @$%#$@!!! jackal had been at our tent AGAIN

After the last incident a few days ago I had decided to cable tie the zips at the back door of our tent where it had gained access before.
Wrong!! O**

The little blighter just chewed through the tent and had wrecked the inside

It took us quite a while in 48 degree heat to sort things out.

As for the damage to our stuff, well you don’t really want to know, but luckily our insurance was all in place

After eventually sorting our lives out, we precariously went out again up to Kij Kij, hoping that the amount of coconut oil the jackal had ingested would keep it on the toilet for the rest of its life O/\

We had a calm drive and spotted, besides the flat cats at Kij Kij

This agama

And some sunset wildebeest

Thereafter we kept looking for a jackal with brown stuff coming out of it’s bottom, but we never saw the blighter again @#$

The gemsbok on the dune is a classical \O

I am sure that you could have done without the jackal, but it's part of the magical "charm" of KTP lol lol

Tuesday 14 November 2023

Our last morning in the park before heading home to Cape Town

We had to leave for home (well to Keimos by 1pm latest) so we thought that we could fit in a quick drive up to Kij Kij and back, and be in time to pack up our camp and leave on time

Our drive out top Kij Kij was REALLY quiet. It was one of those Kalahari days when you wondered what you had done wrong in your life, because all living beings had been raptured overnight and only you survived

:-?

Needless to say, I was happy as it would give us more time to pack up camp

Well that’s what I thought :O^

We arrived back at Rooiputs to see
This couple under the A frame of no 5

OK so after all that, we still needed to pack up, which we did, under the surveillance of our neighbours (and the cats, which were now under OUR A frame), which was a little scary to say the least
